Multiplying Numbers

Dr. Doctor Data,

Do you have any tricks for working two digit multiplication problems.

Dear 4th graders,

Yes, we do. It is called Lattice Multiplication. We created a short video to show you how.

  1. A friend of mine and I are having an ongoing debate that we thought you could help us with! Based on batting average (BA), runs batted in (RBI) and home run (HR) statistics, would you say that Hank Aaron or Willie Mays had a better decade in the 1960's (1960-1969)? We found baseball player statistics at this site http://www.baseball-reference.com/players but we are not sure what to do with all of those decimals!

    Thank you!!

  2. Dr. Data,

Where can I find examples of transformational geometry (e.g. flips, slides, reflections) in the real world?
